Little Red Riding Hood Bento

The bentos I'm sharing today are inspired by the Little Red Riding Hood cookie from Junko's book. I made the cookies during the School holidays, and the subsequent bentos are inspired by that.

Casa Bento has kindly sponsored a pack of lovely musical picks. I used them in my Little Red Riding Hood bento.

IMG_8813
There are 8 picks in a set. Oops, I just realised 2 of the treble clefs and one of the quaver are facing the wrong side. -_-

IMG_8814
A chubby looking Little Red Riding Hood who ate a little too much, lol. :P She's made from rice and nori, red portion of rice was coloured with deco furi. The wolf is made from cheese and nori.

I packed in seaweed cheese pork rolls, grapes, kiwis and strawberries.

This is the sandwich version of little red riding hood, made from strawberry jam bread and nutella. The wolf is made from nutella bread, my nutella is a little dry and can't spread on smoothly.

The bowl of oats at the back went back into the fridge, because I wanted to have overnight OIAJ for breakfast the following day. :P

These cookies are the inspiration for my bentos.

It was fun making them. I also made strawberries and panda cookies too, using the remaining dough. I will share those in subsequent posts. :)

Red Riding Hood Hello Kitty Bento

I'm going on a short road trip tomorrow and will be back on Friday. I won't be making any new bentos this week, but since I still have bentos to share, I have scheduled some post to auto publish for this week.

For today, I'm reviewing the newly launched lunch box from Trudeau Corp .

IMG_6482
Trudeau have been working on this lovely bento box for sometime, so I was really eager to try it out. The box comes with removable inner containers with lids. It is microwave and dishwasher safe. It is BPA free and made from eco friendly materials. It also comes with a five years warranty.

IMG_6483
The bento box comes with compartments which I thought it's a great idea. It also has a large capacity, which is great if you have a huge appetite. And if you decide to pack lesser for that day, you can just use one compartment, and fill the other one with a bottle, napkins and cutleries. The compartment on the left holds 610ml. The 3 sections on the right holds 400ml, 148ml and 109 ml respectively.

IMG_6503
I packed the bento with a salami sandwich and decorated it with a Little Red Riding Hood Hello Kitty. I also packed in a salad, yoghurt and srawberries.

IMG_6506
Hello Kitty is made from crabstick, cheese and nori.

And here's the inspiration for the bento, my Little Red Riding Hood Hello Kitty from MacDonalds. :)

Little Red Riding Hood Toast & Bento

It's not the first time I made Little Red Riding Hood bentos, I've done them once before. You can click HERE to see my previous set of bentos. :)

IMG_5203
Little Red Riding Hood onigiri for my boys' lunch. The rice is coloured with deco furi and details are added with nori. Big bad wolf is made from sausage, cheese n nori.

The flower on Little Red Riding Hood's hair is a bento pick. The sides are meatballs, broccoli, grapes and strawberries.

IMG_5246
I made a toast version of Little Red Riding Hood. This version was inspired by the very talented Ida Frosk, love her food art!

Little Red Riding Hood is made from strawberry, cheese and nori. Can you spot the big bad wolf's tail hiding among the leaves? :P

Packed this for myself yesterday, pan fried some gyoza and lotus root for my bento. :)

Little Red Riding Hood Bento

Another bento from their story books, this one is a classic. :) Little red riding hood is made out of quail eggs and crabstick. And the big bad wolf is made from nori and cheese. I've also used some of my new picks.

LT just made three little pigs puppets in School, complete with the three different types of houses as well. He loves performing for us. The boys have also been drawing their own comics these few days and it's quite interesting to read them, lol. :)

IMG_8253
IT's bento, in the box are rice, grilled wings, broccoli, quail egg, strawberries and blueberries. There's no space to fit in the fruits and I did not want to change into another box, so I just packed them in a small pail. :P

IMG_8250
LT's bento, same food as above. The broccoli bits on the rice is what I always do to his vegetables to make him eat them, cut them up into small bits and mixed with his rice. It's the only way to get him to eat his veggies, for now. :P

IMG_8248
IT's bento for recess, in the box are butter/sugar bread, quail egg, grilled wing and grapes. I skipped LT's box for School today since he hates eggs, especially quail eggs!

IMG_8245
Little red riding hood and the big bad wolf. :P

IMG_8258
Rice, buffalo wings and badly done spinach tamago for me. :) The wings are not as spicy as I like them to be, will have to add more cayenne pepper next time. :)
