Easter Bunny & Sakura Bento

My last Easter bento for this year, made them yesterday for my boys' lunch. :) I wanted to make a pair of Holland lop eared bunnies because I love them very much. However, it did not turned out well, so I scrapped the idea. :P

I ended up adjusting one ear up, since it looked more like a dog than a lop eared bunny with both ears down. The bunny is made from short grained brown rice and nori. The nests are rice rolled in bonito flakes.

The sides are teriyaki beef, broccoli, grapes and strawberries.

It's the sakura season in Japan right now, blomming much earlier this year. I've been seeing lots of beautiful sakura photos, so I made a sakura bento for myself. :) The flowers are cut out from kamaboko, I tinted some of them a lighter pink using natural food colouring.

I made Korean Army stew (Bugae Chiigae) for dinner on Wednesday night, and kept some of the stock to cook Dangmyeon soup the next day. I've been watching lots of Korean drama lately, so I've been craving for anything Korean, lol.

Have a blessed Good Friday!

Kiiroitori & Chick Egg on Pasta

It's Easter holiday tomorrow and there's no School, yay! I still have 2 more Easter bentos to share, one today and another one tomorrow. :)

Chicken and Kiiroitori in bunny suit are both made from egg. :) The food for lunch are ebikko pasta, chicken wrapped in beancurd skin, broccoli and strawberries. :)

To make Kiiroitori in bunny suit, I cut out the egg white using an oval cutter, scoop out the egg yolk, mixed with mayo and stuffed back into the egg again. :)

I packed ebikko pasta and chicken wrapped in beancurd skin for myself, and added in a salad. This bento box from BentoUSA is so kawaii. It's designed for packing cold ramen and soba, it comes with a removable container with sealed lid and a sauce container. The main compartment also comes with a removable drainer at the base.

Kiiroitori Sushi Bento

My initial plan was to make both Rilakkuma and Kiiroitori sushi. But I changed my mind in the morning since it's much easier to just make Kiiroitori alone. Guess I will leave Rilakkuma sushi till next week instead. :)

Kiiroitori sushi for my boys today. Yellow portion is obtained by mixing rice with mashed egg yolk.

The sides for the bentos are oyster sauce chicken, broccoli and strawberries.

I have the same oyster sauce chicken in my bento, added peas, edamame, radish and tomatoes.
