Cornell Hello Kitty Sandwich Toaster

Do you remember I shared about the Hello Kitty sandwich toaster from Cornell last year? The toaster just got a makeover and I love this new revamp version.

It looks even more kawaii now. The functions are the same as the previous one. The toaster has a cool touch body with slot cover. It comes with a cover lid that helps to keep dust out when the toaster is not in use. Maintenance is easy as it comes with a slide-out crumb tray at the bottom to help you get rid of bread crumbs

The buttons of the new toaster are all at the front. The toaster switches off automatically when the toast is done, making it safe to use. It also has an interruption/cancel button for users to control.

The toast will pop up automatically once it's ready. There is a knob for you to adjust the heat setting. I suggest around 3 for the first toast, you can adjust to between 2 to 3 if you are continuing to make more toasts.

I used the toaster to make Katsu Sando for our lunch today. Katsu Sando means tonkatsu sandwich or pork cutlet sandwich. This is one of my favourite sandwich from Japan, I always grab one for my breakfast over there. The recipe is available at the end of this post.

The recipe I shared for the Hello Kitty sandwich toaster last year was a grilled chicken sandwich. You can click HERE if you want the recipe.

For today, to save some time, I used thinly sliced pork, instead of pork loin to make the tonkatsu. This is an alternative to the usual method of making tonkatsu where you have to pound the pork loin flat to tenderise using a meat pounder.

IT has tournament today, so I packed one sandwich in the bento box at the back and sent over to him to eat in school. LT ate the set on the plate, he gets an additional Hello Kitty egg, lol.

I also chose a Hello Kitty food weighing scale from Cornell as my current one has been giving me problem. I'm in love with this new Hello Kitty scale, it's so sweet and pretty.

Cornell celebrated Hello Kitty 40th anniversary with complete Hello Kitty appliance line-up last year. There are two new items and the toaster and sandwich maker have both been revamped with a new design. The items are available at all major electronic stores, with the exception of the food weighing scale, which is only available on Qoo10. Sorry for the late update, I was actually away on holiday when Cornell contacted me about the items last year end.
