We made Christmas cookies with icing last year. The boys had a wonderful time decorating the cookies. The boys remembered the experience, when they saw Christmas cookies selling in the bakery, they requested to make them again. To speed things up, we did the baking yesterday. The icing was done today. :) That way, it won't take up our whole afternoon and we are still free to go out. :P This is likely the boys' last bake for this year, as we will be leaving for our holiday next Wednesday and we only be back on Christmas.

They got lazy/smarter after a while, and just flooded each cookie with icing, so that they will have lots of icing to eat later on.
