Sausage Owl Bento

I was quite clueless about what to do for this morning, because I started on a Korean drama over the weekend and was busy catching the episodes online. -_- It helps that I've a list of stuff I want to try for bentos in my handphone notes, I always note it down whenever I've a bento idea. So, when I woke up in the morning, I looked through the list, looking for something fast and easy, and decided to do these sausage owls. I made them again in the afternoon, so I could take some step by step photos, look out for the tutorial towards the end of the post if you are interested.

A pair of sausage owls on pasta. :) Pasta are done aglio olio style with garlic and broccoli bits.

There's meatballs, grapes and strawberries in another box.

Small portion of the same pasta for them to eat in School.

I packed grapes and there's grated cheese in the small container.

This was my dinner last Friday, Spam fried rice using multi-grained rice, ngoh hiang(meat rolls) and salad.

Please see below for the sausage owls tutorial.

Boil sausage, and use an oval shaped cutter to cut out cheese for the owl's tummy.

IMG_0964
Use 2 different size round cutter to cut out the eyes.

IMG_0965
I used heart shaped sprinklers for the nose. I did not use anything to attach on the cheese and sprinklers, they can stick on fine. :)

IMG_0969
I used this cutter to cut our bread crust for the owl's wings. Then, I attached them with pasta.

I used this puncher to punch out the nori.

The completed owls, these went into my tummies, lol.
