I wanted to make these Daruma dolls a little earlier, but only managed to make them a week after the New Year. Instead of the usual Daruma dolls design, I decided to make Mickey Daruma dolls instead.
The idea to make Mickey Daruma dolls came about because I received this set of Mickey and Minnie decor picks as a gift from Bento with Yenn. Please hop over to her site for a range of decor picks and other bento items.
Mickey Daruma dolls are coloured with deco furi. Details are done with seaweed and cheese.
The bento is packed with broccoli, tomato meatballs and strawberries.
There was not enough meatballs for me, so I stir-fried some scallops with yellow peppers for my bento. The bento is also filled with rice, pickled cucumbers and the tomatoes are lightly stif-fried with balsamic vinegar.
